away till Oct 9th

hi friends,

I'm away early Tuesday on a BIG trip, heading for New York, Chicago and San Francisco! I'm very excited but anxious too and so haven't been able to focus on posting any drawings these last three days, I hope to make up for it with lots of travel sketches when I return. As always many thanks for visiting me, I'll miss peeking in at everyone while I'm away, bye till October 9th!

I'm going on a trip at the end of this month and so have been practicing drawing quick as I can, trying to capture a scene or moment with just a brief stop, these just a few scribbles from this week, the little girl at the top was leaning on a counter peering at me, she was so cute! there wasn't enough time to really capture her but I'm happy to get what I did.

I had to fudge a bit on this, I think you can see it especially with the hands, the two of them got on the bus just blocks before my stop and I had to finish drawing from quickly scribbled notes and memory.

the beauty of speed

The theme of "Speed" is explored in the exhibit that opened this week at The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, I went today and arrived in time to watch this objet d'art as it was unloaded off a truck and greatly admired in the parking lot.

I always look forward to new window displays at "Bygones", their designer always provides me with such fun scenes to draw! I was tickled to see a new one up today, Spiderwoman catching her man! a bit difficult to see, everything was black, plus the glare from the sun on the window, so this sketch is just a first attempt, I'll try again another day.

live at Maymont, there are only two, one mooved all about and so was drawn three times.

power's back!

Ernesto knocked out our power so I wasn't able to post anything yesterday, I drew alot of people during the outage as nobody stayed in their rooms, no T.V.'s or computers to keep them there, I was practicing drawing people quickly which sometimes meant I also drew one thing on top of another so these have been cut and pasted together from the bunch.

And thanks everyone for your visits and commenting, I want to apologize for not responding much, I've been having high blood pressure problems and so have been trying to rest more, which means less time at my computer and more sleep, must to bed now, 'night friends!
