my lines do not capture the energy of his playing, his signature does perfectly. the audience would't let him go, 3 standing ovations, 3 encores!

I sketched while everyone else went for lunch, I was holding out for ice cream at "Carl's", famous for it's frozen custard, YUM!

Leaving for another short trip tomorrow, will return on Saturday!

added 4/23: hi everyone and thanks, I've done very few architectural drawings so thought I'd try to add more to my sketchbook, wished I'd had time to draw "Carl's" building too but my attention was kinda focused on more important things while there :)

My friend Rosa made us a wonderful easter lunch on Wednesday, she decorated the table with flowers from her garden and this funny little sheep. There were also chocolate rabbits and Ukrainian decorated eggs at each place setting but the meal was served before I was able to sketch those in, that's okay, the lovely internet gave me links for visuals on what's missing. :)

still at it

So strange for me to see this, because Anne and I, seemingly, haven't changed much over time. The top drawing I found recently and was drawn about 25 years ago, the bottom done earlier this month, both of us still doing our same thing all these many years later, with just slight differences.

a whole lot of erasing tonight, more still needed, couldn't quite get the left hand and wrist, right shoulder, the way the right hand rested on her tummy, etc. etc.

arrrggggghhh, another difficult foreshortening pose but at least feel like I'm understanding better, well, except for the left leg (again)

I drew Al (he's on the left) starting at the top and working down as I usually do and kinda captured him okay, did the opposite with Christine and completely goofed up, I was surprised how disorienting it was just to draw in a different direction.

Looking at old drawings, visiting old friends. Dear Lewis, his birthday was Valentine's day, and he died on Memorial day. A sweetheart I'll never forget.
