have a seat
at the farmer's market, by the time I scribbled this a thunderstorm was approaching so nobody stuck around to chat, I left just before it started to pour, lots of power outages, my home included, 20 hours till lights on again.

playing at the Watermelon festival
sketching the "High Street Low Lifes" (1920s-style string band based in Petersburg) as they performed at Carytown Watermelon Festival, I couldn't fit the whole scene on my paper so some of the elements were drawn separately (e.g., the door) and pieced together in Photoshop.I wanted to provide a link to the band, they told me they had a page on MySpace but darn if I can find it.
some of the audience
and this woman, all in black with white polka dots, and her hat, which had so many layers of loosely wound black tulle atop that I couldn't tell it's shape, gets a page all her own.

Susan Greenbaum and audience

Susan Greenbaum performed here today, she was terrific, such a beautiful voice! Robbie backed her up on percussion and everybody sang along.
